Nonprofit Corner

Our nonprofits have up to three years to spend their grant money.  During that time, we work with them to make sure they are on track, and we help when we can. In the Nonprofit Corner, we keep you updated on their progress and let you know when they need volunteers or specific items. And when they extend invitations to their events, we’ll let you know about those too.

We like to highlight the wishlists of our Impact & Merit award winners. If you can help any of the organizations, please refer to their websites to find out how to get the items to them. Thank you for all of your help!

      Neighborhood House

      Volunteer opportunities:
By partnering with Dare to Care, Neighborhood House is able to help families stretch their grocery budgets by providing a variety of fresh and nutritious food options. We're one of the only food banks in the west end of Louisville open to the public five days a week. The food bank is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM.

Volunteers can get involved with the Emergency Food Bank in a variety of ways!

      • Pantry Assistants: Will greet guests, assist them as they shop, stock shelves, and help with putting away deliveries.
      • Restock Assistants: Will work to unload, organize, and shelve our monthly delivery of food from Dare to Care
      • Produce Pick Up Volunteer: Will pick up fresh fruits and vegetables from the Dare to Care warehouse and deliver it to Neighborhood House
The Emergency Food Bank is a great opportunity for individuals and groups. Reach out to Alexa at ameza@nhky.org to learn more.
